Thank you for creating this group.  I'm glad the series is not lost on these people.

Back in October, I took a trip to Deadwood, South Dakota.  I was much impressed, but it, of course, looked nothing like it does on the show(as in, the background environment, because of the fire).  It is a lot greener albeit HBO putting a golden filter on it to make it look "westy."  I stayed in the Bullock Hotel where Seth Bullock and Sol Star opened up their hardware store, and for dinner, we sat in Albert Swearengen's saloon upstairs where he himself would have been sitting if not for the fire that burned down the original building.  It was, of course, called The Gem.  The restaurant, I mean.  I found the menu amusing.

Thanks for posting the link. My mouth's watering over some of the items, such as Mr. Woo's Pork Ribs with Trixie's wild raspberry sauce; and having Al's Porterhouse must be the second-best thing to having the man himself!

For me, the best thing about the lockdown has been my introduction to the series Deadwood (courtesy of my kind parents); ironically, the lockdown means that we won't be able to visit the real place for a while...
Thanks for your kind comments. Glad you enjoy the group.

I actually saw your photos a while back and thought they were so awesome! I've often had dreams of traveling to the real Deadwood, SD, just to walk down the main street and take a shot of whiskey at the actual Gem Saloon. Kevin Costner also has a restaurant there called 'The Midnight Star' that I'd love to see someday because Dances with Wolves is one of my favorite movies...

On my bucket list is a visit to the set where they filmed Deadwood in Santa Clarita, CA. Melody Ranch Motion Picture Studio. They supposedly have an open house festival once a year!

Did you happen to go to Calamity Jane or Wild Bill's gravesites while you were there?
We did, actually.  My brother-in-law and I left pennies on Wild Bill's gravestone as a means of memorial.  We also took a short walk to Preacher Smith's gravestone... to which I saw a flock of wild turkeys and a herd of deer.  For a graveyard, it was alive with life, and in the perfect location of overlooking the entire town of Deadwood.
Thanks for adding my Swearengen. Have  to say that I love the theme for this group :)
Thanks for adding my Swearengen attempt, be circling Deadwood for a few drawings I think. Some GREAT works here.
Cheers for adding my Swearengen pic :D I heartily fucking approve of a Deadwood DevArt group :D
